This skateboard deck features Christine Sun Kim’s distinctive visual language, where lines and words map the flow of sound, energy, and exchange. Phrases like “time owes” and “rest again” weave together themes of debt, rhythm, and repetition which are all ideas that echo throughout her work. It’s a striking blend of motion and meaning, turning the surface of a skateboard into a canvas for reflection on balance, movement, and the cycles that shape daily life.
Those motion lines represent five signs in ASL that read “Time Owes Me Rest Again.” You skate to take your mind off things and rest. It was first shown as a mural at the Queens Museum in 2022.
